After reading :icontechgnotic: 's latest journal on Superman, I decided that I'd like to start a comic book project.

I think emphasis on a new Super Hero with a disability and a super power would be interesting. We've seen the emphasis on super powers over the last few decades and the ultimate downfall being emotional issues or faults in character leading to mistakes. The plot revolving around the super power and the emotions/character leading to mistakes or "humanity" in a way.

It would be great to have a Super Hero thats humanised a little bit by having a disability and a super power. Like a Super hero that is blind BUT he/she also has super human strength and then he/she has to live life navigating around his/her disability AND his/her super human strength. Or a Super Hero that is deaf but can also be invisible.

I think that would intensify the super hero's relationships with the characters around them - instead of just villain, hero, lover - they could have friends that share the disability/friends that share the super power without the disability etc. Different situations become possible as well such as falling in love if one can't see the person - that person having to adapt to the super power and the disability etc.

One could also juxtapose this in terms of the blindness and seeing could be a metaphor for real life - since even if one can see the person visually - one may not see their true character or see the real reality of a relationship.

I intend to start  a comic book with the main Super Hero being deaf, but also having the ability to be invisible and her navigating around life,  situations and villains.  Situations that involve lip reading and selecting Super Hero partners, that she can trust, will be the main themes of the first few chapters of the comic book.

I'm also intending to create this comic book project using tools such as Microsoft Word 2013, Microsoft PowerPoint 2013, Microsoft Live Essentials Movie Maker, GIMP, and Inkscape.

I'd also like to get a few collaborators on board - so if you are interested in joining the project then note me or comment in this journal.

Some key decisions:

Regarding the attributes of the heroine:

:iconmv3plz:     A name for the leading character
:iconmv3plz:     A Nationality
:iconmv3plz:   Languages she understands

:iconmv3plz:    Her appearance - I want realism not fantasy in the appearance category, but her appearance should still be interesting

:thumb450498049:
She needs a PSYCHEDELIC aspect/attribute to either her main appearance or her super
   hero suit.

Regarding the formats the comic book is presented in:

:iconmv3plz:  I'm debating whether or not a PowerPoint template would be a good format - but for now I think
I'm going to present the comic book in a PowerPoint format

:iconmv3plz:    Under consideration is how to present lip reading situations and other key situations in this format

Regarding the principle image creation aspects:

All images will be presented in png or jpg with GIMP as the main image creation software. It would
be helpful if you have the G'MIC plugin for GIMP installed

Regarding the Bio-conservation aspects:

:iconmv3plz:  Super heroes always seem to destroy whole cities when they fight with the villains and one
always wonders about the clean up of the city afterwards

Our heroine is going to be eco-friendly - which is going to be a challenge in itself, but leaves
openings for plenty of unusual plot developments

:iconmv3plz:  A city can no longer look like a tornado has just ravaged it - after the heroine has fought
with/conquered the threat presented by a villian

:iconmv3plz:  If she battles a villain, she has to have a remediation plan incorporated in her plan of attack, which
restores the city/scene of the battle back to the way it was before the battle
Or alternatively she has to neutralize the threat of the villain without damaging the city/natural
   environment

Thanks
